Colorado Girl Scout awarded national scholarship

KDVR – Colorado girl from Colorado received a national grant, according to a press statement from The Girl Scouts of Colorado.

The 18 -year -old Kanshita Dam, Ambassador of Scout Girls, received the GSUSA GOLD award for “its exceptional leadership and community communication”.

DAM created a gold prize project called “Global Garments for Good”.

The purpose of the project was to create a sustainable system to donate ethnic clothing from the United States to needy societies in India. The clothes used were gently used to support people working to get out of poverty.

Girl Scouts Colorado said that the project helped build strong relationships with local temples and cultural organizations.

One of the temples in Denver and the Meloni Association is committed to hosting regular donation engines that will continue after a long time with scout girls. Three shipments were sent in six months.

The work of the dam earned its confession from other organizations, including:

  • The runner -up for girls’ scouts at the Stephanie Award.
  • 2025 distinguished women at work by Denver Business Magazine

While she found great success in Colorado, she sees as long as her next steps in California, where biomedics will follow a blindfold at the University of Southern California.

She graduated from Kent Denver Secondary School, where she worked as a co -commander of the Sakwash swimming team, in addition to her participation with the scout girls in Colorado.

DAM has received a $ 5,000 scholarship from the Gold Award grant.
