KDVR – A group of officers who fell from Colorado announced a part of 345 officers who died in duty from all over the country, to add it to the memorial to national law enforcement officials, in a press statement on Friday.
The names of the officers will be engraved on the walls of the memorial in Washington, DC, until the end of April. Then, on May 13, the thirty -seventh annual protest will be held at the National Commercial Center between the fourth and seventh streets at 8 pm
“While we are once again gathering to honor our officers who fell, we do not only remember the lives they provided, but from the fixed dedication that led them to service,” William Alexander, CEO of the National Law Office Officers Fund, said in a press statement. “Their courage and self -denial continue to guide us – it embodies the spirit of law enforcement. This official moment is a time of sadness and remembrance, and to ensure that we bear their legacy forward with gratitude and goal.”
The 2025 heroes invitation will present the names of the official heroes falling in the service, which includes 148 federal, state law enforcement officers who have passed through the lines of duty in 2024. Other years of previous years, whose cases have been approved by the Ministry of Memorial Fund Research.
The memorial fund said that there is a 25 % increase in officers’ deaths in 2024 over the previous year.
However, among the total of 345 names, 197 of the previous years after research employees confirmed their deaths and have a record of law enforcement services.
Every year, an estimated 30,000 people will attend by the way, with family, friends and community members gathering to honor the lives of the officers who fell.
After adding the officers who fell into a memorial in 2024, a total of 24,412 officers will be engraved on the memorial site.
