Denver (KDVR) – President Trump’s tariff was set on imported vehicles and some auto parts at the ease of Wednesday, some local reform stores are preparing.
The goal of the administration is to enhance local manufacturing, but Brad Din in import mechanics in Denver is trying to know how the definitions affect his business and customers.
Dean said: “At least 50 % of the components we work with, either from Mexico or Canada,” Dean said.
Parts such as engines, transportation and electrical components can be affected.
Dean says that he is not sure when a prices will be increased, but he says that customers should expect their cars to be repaired and even maintenance to cost more. Even things like brake pads can contain electrical ingredients.
“The brake platforms can range between $ 300 and $ 400. I can easily see things up to $ 500 to $ 600. So it may be important,” said Dean.
These definitions may affect American brands as well.
“Every car will get some international parts,” Group said.
He says that manufacturers respond differently and consumers should not expect a unified response.
“The name of the game is how the industry will respond to reducing the damage to the consumer,” Groes said.
Dean said that his store will likely try to absorb some cost, but “we have no big room to drop the margin to accommodate the definitions ourselves and stay at work.”
His advice is that if drivers have postponed the maintenance or repairs they have postponed, they may want to obtain this relative.
