Denver (KDVR) – The former Park Hill Golf Stadium is one step away from becoming a new big garden in Denver.
The new plans for the Park Hill region were issued, and the first official reading is Monday night.
Denver announced in January that the site on 35th Street, west of Colorado Street, was obtained from potential developers in the SWAP deal. Developers plan to turn the space into an urban garden.
The city exchanges the golf field, owned by WestSide Investment Partners, with unpaid industrial lands in the city in Adams Province, according to the press statement.
With the land exchange agreement now, the Adams County Commissioners and the Denver City Council will officially approve the exchanging lands. This means that a few steps must have passed, including multiple readings.
The Park Hill Golf Stadium, which has an area of 155 acres, was empty since its closure in 2018. The session was originally opened in the 1930s.
In 2023, voters canceled a measure that would allow development on the ground.
