Christie Brinkley stunned in a red bikini while enjoying some fun in the sun and promoting her new Uptown Girl memoir.
The blonde bombshell, 71, was all smiles as she showed off her figure in a two-piece, clad in a patterned swimsuit cover with an “NY” baseball cap in the photos shared via her Instagram page on Monday, April 7.
“Feeling Optimistic and Hope your are too! Wishing everyone bright sun shiny days ahead! #uptowngirlmemoire drops 29 April @harpercollins @harperbooks,” her caption read.
Fans were raving over how great the Sports Illustrated star looked in the pics and couldn’t help but show love. “You are my inspiration! Gorgeous at any age!” one wrote while another chimed in, “Age has so much to do with the mind. You have beauty throughout!” A third added, “71 looks amazing!!!!!”
Christie previously spoke about her diet and fitness regimen, revealing she took pride in her nutrition and ensured that her kids ate well too.
“I’ve always fed my children, my family, and myself a rainbow of color a day,” she told The Cut in 2018, revealing she enjoyed raw oats with berries and nuts for breakfast. “For lunch, I go into greens and do a salad, then add a protein like a bean or nuts,” she dished. “Dinner is more of the same except maybe I’ll put my vegetables on a bean pasta, rice, grain or quinoa.”
Sources told Closer exclusively that Christie also likes to include long walks and yoga into her day. “Having aches and pains in places you never had before isn’t fun, but she’s far from slowing down,” spilled an insider.
Ahead of her 70th birthday in 2024, the model shared a statement about being comfortable in her own skin while also responding to haters she titled “The Wrinkle Brigade.”
“The Wrinkle Brigade is out in full force in the comment thread! They are the people that scan celebrities’ pages, hoping to find some cellulite, wrinkles, or anything that they can point to critique. It must be [some] form of compensation for something they are lacking. But when those people appear, there are others who pop up with messages so kind and valuable,” she wrote, expressing further gratitude to the others who showed her unwavering support.
“Those are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing! Thank you sweet souls. P.S. I don’t have hair on my chest obviously (I thought!) Iphone has a tendency to create weird things in [the] shadow. But so what if I did?” Christie concluded her message.
