Christian “King” Combs is opening up in his latest project.
On Thursday, the 27-year-old rapper dropped the video for “Lonely Roads,” the opening track on his new EP. The song, produced by Kanye West (Ye) and Stevie J, was released while his father, Sean “Diddy” Combs, is behind bars.
King promoted the release on Instagram, writing, “Lonely roads video out now!! This video is really special to me! This is one of my favorite songs on the album!! OUT NOW!! Go watch and tell me what you think!!! THANK YOU! #linkinbio.”
Directed by Adam Gharib, the video begins with a photo of King’s late mother, Kim Porter, before shifting to scenes with his siblings Quincy, Justin, twins Jessie and D’Lila, and younger sister Love. Much of it was filmed at Diddy’s Los Angeles mansion, which was raided by Homeland Security in March 2024 during a federal investigation.
Love celebrated her appearance on social media, writing, “My big brother @kingcombs had me in my first music video to his song ‘Lonely Roads.’ It’s a really special song for him🫶🏽 I had so much fun playing and running around! Go watch the full video in my bio!!!”
Notably absent from the video were King’s sister Chance Combs, Ye, and Ye’s daughter North West, who raps on the track’s bridge.
The song ends with a touching message from King, thanking his fans for their support through difficult times. ““Even when the road felt lonely… y’all never left my side. To every fan, supporter, and person who believed in me — thank you. I love y’all more than words can say. This last year and a half was one of the darkest times in my life… but every stream, repost, every time someone stopped me just to say, ‘keep going’ — it all meant more than you know. Y’all reminded me I wasn’t walking this road alone. Y’all gave me strength. Y’all helped me never stop. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love, Christian.”
Diddy, 54, is currently in custody after being found guilty in July on two Mann Act violations. He avoided sex trafficking and racketeering charges and is awaiting sentencing in October.
