AUSTIN (KXAN) — Central Texas is expected to see heavy rain and possible strong storms arriving Friday evening and Friday night. The threat of inclement weather led to the event being cancelled.
KXAN’s First Weather Warning Team said a large band of storms and heavy rain could move from roughly west to east Friday night and continue into early Saturday morning, bringing a risk of localized flooding and the potential for some severe storms with the primary threat being damaging wind gusts.

The Trunk-or-Treat event hosted at McKinney Falls State Park has been cancelled. According to Texas State Parks, the event, originally scheduled for Friday evening, will not take place due to rain.
The Battle of the Lakes High School football game between Lake Travis and Westlake will begin at 7 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m., and Westlake will retire the jersey of NFL quarterback and Chubbs alumnus Drew Brees at 6:30 p.m.

Burnet High School’s football game time has been moved to 6 p.m. due to “potential for inclement weather,” the school said. he said on social media. Additionally, a senior/parent tribute will begin at 5:20 p.m
“Weather permitting, all senior students will walk onto the field at the end of the game when the senior song is revealed,” the school said.
