  • Two counts of aggravated kidnapping
  • Aggravated sexual assault
  • Residential burglary means another felony
  • Illegal arrest of a public official
  • Theft of a firearm
  • Manipulating/fabricating physical evidence

KXAN has reached out to Rhodes’ attorney. This article will be updated if a statement is received.

On Oct. 8, 911 received a phone call from a woman who said she had been robbed, court documents said. The call was traced to a residence in the 500 block of Tanner Trail in Pflugerville before being disconnected.

Police responded and saw a man running into the home through the front door before leaving again through the back door and jumping a fence. This man was later identified by police as Rhodes.

Police spoke with the victims involved in the incident, who said they returned home after a night out and found an unknown man inside. The victims told police that the man had a gun, and it was pointed at them when he demanded money from the victims.

The affidavit stated, “The suspect [told the victims] He was glad to have two of them because he could use them as leverage against each other.

According to police, the victims went to an ATM, where they withdrew money to give to the man, but he said that was not enough.

After returning home, the victim said the man then asked her to factory reset a laptop and “repeated what he said about crossing her heart and hoping to die” regarding his untraceability.

According to court documents, the man asked one of the victims to leave the room, and that’s when the other victim was sexually assaulted.

Shortly after the assault, the victim said police were outside the home, and that’s when the man came out the back door.

According to police, Rhodes was found after an area search at a nearby vacant home. Police said he matched the description of the man officers saw jumping over the fence of the victim’s home.

At the time of his arrest, Rhodes was carrying a bag containing a magazine loaded with 15 live rounds. After searching the home, police also found a ski mask, a black Glock 19 9mm handgun that was later determined to be stolen.

Because of the victim’s statement to investigators about the sexual assault, Rhodes’ DNA was collected during the execution of the search warrant.

As of Oct. 16, court records show, Rhodes remained booked into the Travis County Jail on bonds totaling $1 million.
