Santa Rosa, California – A woman in California is sued Costco with more than $ 14 million after the heavy wine wardrobe has fallen, causing serious injuries.
The shopper, Sadi Novotney, filed the lawsuit against Costco Whilesale Corporation after the March 22 accident at the company’s Santa Rosa store in North California.
According to court documents, Novotny was going in the corridor when she claimed that a large and heavy wardrobe is used to display the alcohol that was suddenly dropped on it.
The lawsuit claims that Novotni had severe and durable injuries, including a brain injury. It seeks to get 9 million dollars in pain and suffering, and $ 5 million for emotional distress and additional damage to the lost medical expenses and wages.

The case, which was already submitted to the Olaya County Court, was transferred to the Federal Court at the request of Kostco. A Case Management Conference is scheduled to be held on September 4 in the San Francisco Federal Court.
According to the lawsuit, the Council of Ministers was presented to what was described as a defective or reckless wooden platform. The deposit argues that this created an insecure position for shoppers, claiming that the show “was prepared in a dangerous and unreasonable way.”
The lawsuit claims that Costco has failed to examine and maintain the screen properly, on the pretext that the company should have known the danger or to repair it or to warn customers of the risks.
ABC News has arrived at Costco Whilesale Corporation for comment.
Claude Armand Wey, Novotney’s lawyer, claimed ABC news that one of the Costco representatives told him that they had a video of the accident, but they would not send him to him to review it.
Will said: “The employee told me that the video did not happen the way I explained,” Will said. “I told her,” Well, send it. “Then she said,” No, you can just get this video through discovery. “
“This means that I had to file a lawsuit,” he added. “I couldn’t investigate anything else. I was stuck. If you wanted to reach the truth, I had to file a lawsuit.”
Will told ABC News that Novotney went to the hospital an hour after the accident after she told her husband that she was “very bad”.
“When I arrived at the hospital, the doctors diagnosed it with concussion,” said Will. “She has suffered a head injury. We don’t know how bad it is.”
Will said that his client feels a slight improvement, but he is still suffering from headaches and vision problems.
The lawsuit seeks to compensate for the current and future medical expenses, which are estimated at $ 2 million, in addition to missing profits and future gain losses of about two million dollars. Searching for additional damage to the loss of home services is searched.
