The Bucs have added some depth to their offensive line with the re-signing of veteran guard Dan Feeney to a one-year deal. This is according to Peter Schrager of ESPN.
They’re not done yet. Another Boat Day signing for Tampa Bay. Per source, the Bucs have also agreed to terms with OL Dan Feeney to keep him in TB. Assistant GM Rob McCartney and GM Jason Licht worked on the deal from the boat in TB with agent Jared Fox of @LIFTSPORTSMNGMT 🏴☠️🛥️ https://t.co/En6VFIRPZz

Feeney was signed from Buffalo’s practice squad last year after Tampa Bay’s starting right guard, Cody Mauch, went on injured reserve following a knee injury he suffered in the team’s Week 2 win at Houston. He went on to start ten games last year for the Bucs.
The 31-year-old Feeney, who signed a one-year $1.255 million with the Buccaneers last year, will enter his 10th season in the NFL in 2026.
Feeney spent his first four seasons with the Chargers playing guard and center before playing with the Jets for two seasons in 2021 and 2022. Then it was off to Chicago for the 2023 season and then the 2024 season with the Vikings. This offseason he was with the Dolphins before being signed to the Bills practice squad.
The Legend Behind Bucs Guard Dan Feeney’s Mullet
The scouting report for the 6-foot-4, 310-pound Dan Feeney, who is an Irish tough guy from Chicago, is that he’s smart and physical.
And he has a glorious mullet.
“Yeah, Baker was giving me some love about it,” Feeney said upon his arrival in Tampa Bay. “Trends, they fade and then they’ll come back. The mullet actually started in 2020 during COVID. I was out in California and couldn’t get a haircut, so I grew it out. I was locked in my house and had long hair and one of my buddies always did like a training camp mullet, and so I did one too. It kind of just stuck, and I’ve got the mustache. I’ve kind of been riding it ever since.”

I asked Feeney where he got his “Dirty Dan” nickname from and he actually didn’t even know.
“I think Baker [Mayfield] started that,” Feeney said. “Baker saw me the other day – saw that I was kind of grimy with the mustache and the mullet, and said, ‘You look like a Dirty Dan.’”
Actually, Feeney has a reputation around the league and a nickname he didn’t know he even had. One Buccaneers source texted me last week that the team signed “Dirty Dan” Feeney, so that nickname is known in league circles.
“I like it!” Feeney said upon learning that. “That’s good to know.”
