Brush fire burning near Bay Area community college

(Kron)-The 280 Highway was closed and the houses were evacuated on Saturday evening due to a brush fire near Canada College at 4200 Farm Hill Boulevard in San Mateo Province.

The fire, called The Edgewood Fire, was stopped at about 4:53 pm from 6:51 pm, all the progress was stopped forward on the fire, according to the Cal Fire San Mateo-Santa Cruz unit.

Firefighting and Law enforcement men evacuated the Laneing Drive and Canada Road in Woodside shortly after 6 pm

“The vision in the area can be reduced and the roads can be registered by emergency personnel,” said San Matteo Province. “So in the area, please evacuate immediately and wait for everything clear.”

The I-280 heading north in Woodside Road is closed and the headquarters heading south are closed on Edgewood Road. All traffic is converted into Woodside and Edgewood roads. No time is estimated when I-280 will be reopened in the area.

The fire started with a vehicle fire caused by a mechanical problem, according to the California Highway Patrol. The car fire spread to the near grass, and set the continuous brush fire.

At least 15 fire engines, two water engines, a multi -wing plane, one helicopter, a hand -gunfish crew, a firefighting crew and truck to fire.
