Boston police seeking suspect in assaulted on pregnant woman

The alleged assault arose as a result of an altercation between two people at the laundromat when one of them was having trouble paying.

Boston police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect who allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman at a Roxbury laundromat.

Police said in A press release. The violent altercation began as a dispute between two people at the laundromat located at 104 Warren Street.

The dispute arose when the victim was having trouble using a payment card in the laundry machines, but the dispute quickly escalated, according to police. The unknown assailant allegedly intervened and kicked the victim, who was five months pregnant, in the stomach.

After the alleged assault, the suspect fled the laundromat and headed toward Moreland Street. Police described him as a light-skinned man, about 6 feet tall, wearing a blue New York Yankees cap, a beige jacket and blue pants.

Investigators are also searching for a woman who was present during the assault and “may be linked to the suspect,” according to the statement. Although police did not have a photo of the suspect, they did include photos of the woman who was seen wearing a gray jacket, black sweatpants and brown shoes.

Investigators are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and have asked anyone with information to contact them at 617-343-4275.
