Litleton, Colorado (KDVR) – poured black smoke and flame from a donation area behind the Litleton savings store on Thursday afternoon. She directed a great response from fires and forced business owners close to evacuation.
“Just a huge fire comes behind the landing area,” said the witness, Scott Holter, said. “He saw black smoke rising and knew that there is a fire somewhere.”
Holter had just ended a picture to take a picture near South Broadway and minerals when he saw the chaos being revealed behind the Arc Thrift store in Broadway.
Within a few minutes, the southern metro extinguishing crews were at the scene, using water and foam to hit the fire quickly.
“There was a very large pillar of smoke, a very active fire in the back area of this building,” said Brian Willie, General Information Officer at South Metro Fire.
The teams say that the fire started in a collection area full of donor commodities. While the brick building was strong, the damage of smoke now shines the back wall and spent the afternoon to sweep the rest.
“About 25 minutes, the fire was designed to control,” Willie said. “We are very lucky because there was neither extension nor other damage to companies.”
Investigators say they do not know how it started, although some in the area wondered whether a stray cigarette or flammable things set fire.
“Everything that caught the fire has risen very quickly,” Holter said. “I am just happy that everyone went out well.”
By 3 pm, companies were reopened, including bow, although donations are now parked as cleaning behind the store continues.
The teams say about 45 firefighters responded alongside the Litton and Arapahoe Rescue.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is investigated by the fire fire office.
