Bay Area residents look back on Oct. 7 attack in Israel two years later

(Kron) – Two years ago, Hamas launched a sudden attack on a music festival in Israel, killing 1,200 people and holding hundreds of hostages, which caused the continuous revenge by Israel.

The attack took place on October 7 during the Jewish Throne Day holiday, which is the bloodiest attack in the history of Israel.

Janine Zakaria, a press lecture at Stanford University, described the volume of the attack as not being able to make him unarmed, noting the killing of children, women and entire families, as well as taking more than 200 hostages.

Since the attack, the leadership of the region has been greatly affected, as senior leaders were assassinated inside Hamas, Lebanon and Syria, according to Zakaria.

It also highlighted the influence on Israel’s global reputation, noting the boycott and protests, including those that took place in universities such as Stanford University.

Currently, 48 hostages are still held in Gaza, and peace talks in Egypt are aimed at ending the conflict and returning them home.

Tyler Gregory, CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council, stressed the desire for peace between millions in the region and the importance of raising the voices calling for coexistence.

Peace talks in Egypt continue to end the conflict and return hostages to the homeland.
