Austin – Austin is looking to revolutionize the way the products between Texas and Mexico move.
Green Moridors, LLC just got the green light from the White House through a permit to build a high railway for independent vehicles.
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump issued a statement to the company to build the corridor between Larado, Tixas and Montere, Mexico.
The company will also build a bridge over the Rio Grande River on the borders of the United States of Mexico.
Kxan talks with the editor -in -chief of Austin Colin Bob magazine about the project.
The interview was gently released for clarity and brevity.
Tom Miller: Describe what this Austin company hopes to build between Mexico and Tixas and how this will work.
Colin BobWhen I saw offers of what they planned, some somewhat brought me back to the world of Disney and Monorail. You have a high railway and future backgrounds back and forth this thing, largely around the clock throughout the week. This is the biggest vision – to build one of these high shipping bars, with completely independent vehicles, no drivers.
Tom: What is promising when it comes to improving traffic and improving road conditions?
Colin: It is considered a lot for truck drivers. No. One, we still rely on the old old trucks to get the back and forth charging across the border, but will reduce the congestion times, especially on the border. I don’t know if you have seen waiting times in Larado, trying to enter or get out of long waiting times in the United States. If truck drivers can only reduce 10 minutes of waiting times, collectively, it is estimated that our economy will save more than $ 300 million.
TomDo you feel that this now has a new momentum with President Trump’s participation?
Colin: Do, yes. The company wants to do all this without being public dollars or assistance in the public sector. They want everything special, as it is funded by investors, but they need a permit to be able to develop a new border crossing. They got this statement now.
Tom: What is the price of building something like this? How long will it take to build something like this?
Colin: CEO of Green Moridors is the date of the launch of 2031 for this purpose. In terms of cost, it is in the dark a little, anywhere from 6 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars. I know this is a big difference, but the CEO says that everything depends on how inflation deals with the company in the coming years, then the customs tariff will also be part of the equation as well.
