Aryna Sabalenka Adorably Introduces Her ‘Mother-in-Law’ After Touching Down in Boyfriend’s Homeland, Brazil

Aryna Sabalenka kicked off her brief off-season break with a wholesome family moment. The World No. 1 arrived in Brazil this week for a sponsor event and marked the occasion by sharing a sweet snapshot with Ana Helena Puccetti, the mother of her partner, Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis.

Her lighthearted introduction, paired with a warm Portuguese greeting, set the tone for a rare glimpse into her personal life as she stepped into a busy slate of post-season commitments.

A Closer Look at Aryna Sabalenka’s Warm Welcome in Brazil

Sabalenka’s Brazil visit comes shortly after she wrapped up another standout year on tour. She finished her 2025 campaign with a runner-up showing at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, closing out a season that included deep runs at major tournaments, such as Australian Open and French Open finals, a US Open title, and a consistent presence at the top of the rankings.

With her competitive duties on pause for a few weeks, the Belarusian star shifted her focus to sponsor activities, outreach events, and a chance to connect with fans in new locations. Her relationship with Frangulis has also become an interesting point for followers, as the two went public last year, making their growing bond an endearing subplot to her on-court storylines.

The post that led to all the buzz captured Sabalenka posing alongside Puccetti during a car ride shortly after touching down in Brazil. In the caption, she affectionately referred to Puccetti as “minha sogrinha,” Portuguese for “my mother-in-law,” and added a heart emoji. She then greeted her Brazilian audience with “Oi Brazil. Tudo bem?” which translates to “Hi Brazil. How’s it going?”

What Has Sabalenka Revealed About Her Future Family Plans?

Sabalenka shared that she hopes to start a family within the next five years. Speaking to Alexander Sokolovsky on his podcast after her Riyadh campaign, she explained that she once imagined having kids by the age of 25 and then coming back to win titles. Now 27, she has delayed that plan to focus on pushing her career to its fullest potential.

“At 18, I thought by 25 I’d win everything I wanted. At 25, I’d have a baby, come back, and keep winning. 25 came, and I won some stuff, then I thought maybe 27 or 28. Now I’m 27 and I’m like, well, a bit later, yeah, we’ll move it. I realized I want to get the most out of my career, see how far I can go,” Sabalenka said.

Sabalenka added that, although her current outline involves starting a family within the next half-decade, that timeline isn’t set in stone. She noted that she genuinely adores children, but emphasized that her tennis journey remains her top “priority” for the time being.
