(Kron) – A suspect was arrested in a deliberate burning in a commercial building on Monday early, killing one person, killing the fourteenth of the year in San Jose.
San Jose Police Administration said that Yassinia Estrada was detained by patrol officers on Tuesday and detained in Santa Clara County Prison on suspicion of killing and intentional burning.
SJPD said that the officers responded at 3:58 am on Monday to investigate the fire report in 200 blocs from North 27 Street.
“Upon his arrival, the officers learned that the structure fire was likely to be the reason for burning the deliberate operations. SJFDs responded to the scene of the accident for help,” said San Jose Police.
Police said officials could not locate an employee who was supposed to be in the building at the time of the fire.
“Because of the structural instability, the full search for potential victims cannot be conducted safely. However, multiple indicators indicate that the victim may still be inside. As a result, the killing unit at San Jose Police Department responded to the scene of the accident and worked jointly with SJFD Arson to investigate the accident.”
SJPD confirmed that a body was discovered inside the structure on Tuesday by members of the SJPD, SJFD Urban Search and Reserve, and the medical examiner office. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
