Austin (kxan) – a City Audit was described as an “ineffective” Austit police administration, “ Highlighting things such as collecting inconsistent data, lacking a “pipeline” or social media and social strategy.
The police administration had 330 vacancies as of January, and the review said that 41 % of these positions were open for more than a year.
However, Lisa Davis President told the right direction in the right direction and expects vacancies to decrease significantly over the next few years.
She said in an interview with Mars:
Auditing the vacancies and strategies tracked from 2020 to 2024. During the time, the vacancy rate increased from 7.4 % to 18 %. Here are some factors that affected employment numbers.
- 2021: The Austin City Council stopped the chapters of the trainees until APD renewed its diversity protocol and the use of strength.
- APD operates without a police contract from March 2023 to October 2024
Davis said: “The attrition has really slowed after securing the contract, and it is scheduled to leave people who leave only from retirement,” Davis said.
The graph below shows an increase in the chapter in 2023.
The scrutiny It was discussed during the meeting of the Audit and Financial Committee this week, and you can see it here.
During this meeting, the administration confessed to gaps in tracking data in terms of determining the reason for not some recruits even conducting them to the end and marking this as a priority to move forward. Davis president also said that the changes in the recruitment strategy in recent months have led to the employment numbers heading up.
