Angel Reese, star forward for the Chicago Sky, is once again showing love for her younger brother, Julian Reese. The Maryland Terrapins’ big man just wrapped up his college basketball career and earned an invite to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament — a major showcase for college seniors hoping to make it to the NBA.
Angel Reese Showing Love for Brother Julian Reese
According to a University of Maryland press release, the NBA-sponsored event brings together 64 top college seniors, scouts, and agents over four days. The players are split into eight teams, playing a total of 12 games. Past PIT alumni include legends like Jimmy Butler III, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and John Stockton.
Angel shared a clip of herself watching Julian play at the tournament with a proud caption: “Day 2: Let’s go JuJu.”
Angel also posted another story about Julian, a repost of another video with a stock-up emoji.
Julian wrapped up a strong senior season at Maryland, averaging 13.3 points, nine rebounds, and shooting 55.5% from the field. He notched 15 double-doubles and was one of the Big Ten’s leaders in that stat. He also became just the second player in Maryland history to collect over 1,000 career rebounds.
He helped the Terrapins reach the Sweet 16 in this year’s March Madness, Maryland’s first trip that far since 2016. Julian was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention three times during his college career.

Angel has always been vocal in her support for Julian. On his senior night, she shared a touching video message:
“JuJu, it’s your sister. I just wanna wish you a happy Senior Night. I’m sorry I can’t be there tonight, but I’m really, really, really, really super proud of you and all that you’ve done over four years. You’ve created your own identity to who you are and what Julian Reese is.
“You represented Baltimore, you represented the city, you played in front of all our family, in front of our friends. Through all ups and downs, you stayed there, you stayed the course. The next level, I’m super excited for your next journey. You know your sister is always right there. I’m your No. 1 fan, and you’re graduating this year too, so I’m super proud for that too.”
Julian’s invite to the Portsmouth Invitational follows in the footsteps of other Maryland players. Just last season, Donta Scott and Jahmir Young also received invites to the prestigious tournament.
