‘Steffi Graf Was Always So Graceful’ – Andre Agassi Expressed Awe in His Wife’s Playing Style
While speaking to the press, Agassi highly praised his wife, Graf. He stated that she was “graceful” in her playing style, clear and methodical in her approach, and very professional.
“She was always so graceful with the way she played. I envied everybody that had something that I didn’t have. Her clarity and her professionalism and her methodical… you know, I was just an emotional wreck when I was a teenager. I always marveled at how she could do it so quietly,” Agassi said.
Agassi also expressed his admiration for Graf’s ability to set clear goals and objectives, as well as her focus and commitment to achieving them during her career. He also praised her seamless transition from retiring from tennis to her everyday life, which he said she managed with “tremendous grace.”
“One of the things I’ve always marveled at with Stef is her ability to be very clear on her goals and objectives, and to be focused and committed to them. She went through the transition that every athlete has to go through, including me. Leaving a world where you don’t even have a memory without tennis in your life, and all of a sudden you’re done with it. But she’s handled that like she’s handled everything else, with tremendous grace,” he added.
Agassi retired from professional tennis in 2006, while Graf concluded her career in the sport in 1999.
