Alyssa Milano Wants to ‘Explore’ The ‘Powerful’ Person She is ‘Now’ Amid Menopause Journey – Closer Weekly

Alyssa Milano is unleashing a new version of herself.

The 53-year-old actress recently revealed how perimenopause has impacted her life, in some ways for the better, and made it clear she wants to flip the script about the condition.

“I think a lot of menopause content asks how we get [women] back to normal. What if thinking ‘normal’ was part of the problem?” she remarked in an interview with AARP published on Wednesday, February 4. “I don’t want to be restored to who I was. I want to continue to explore this person that I am now.”

“I have never in my life felt as powerful as I do right now,” the mom of two — who shares kids Milo, 14, and Elizabeth, 11, with husband David Bugliari — told the outlet.

The Charmed star explained she hasn’t had a “panic attack in years,” adding that “not worrying what other people think anymore is a huge bonus” of this life stage she is in.

Also in the interview, Milano revealed she has made career strides since the start of her menopause journey, including starring as Roxie Heart in Chicago on Broadway in 2024 and writing her first screenplay.

“I’m not sure that I would’ve had the confidence to do that had I not gone through menopause and come into my power,” she told the outlet about her screenplay.

Milano’s new 4-part docu-series BALANCE: A Perimenopause Journey, which delves deeper into the menopause conversation, is streaming on Prime Video.
