At the WTA 1000 clay court tournament in Madrid, Boulter triumphed over Kateřina Siniaková 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the first round of the singles event. However, she was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by sixth seed Jasmine Paolini in the second round.

In the doubles event, Boulter teamed up with Daria Kasatkina. The duo lost 6-7(4), 7-5, [10-12] in the first round to Linda Nosková and Clara Tauson.

On the other hand, De Minaur was seeded sixth at the Madrid Open, and he started his campaign in the second round after receiving a bye in the first round. But, he fell 6-4, 6-2 to 10th seed Lorenzo Musetti in the fourth round.

After concluding his run in Madrid, De Minaur took to social media to share photos of himself posing with two Mini De Luxe cars, one green in color and the other blue.

“One more can’t hurt right? 👀😂🤷‍♂️ #doubletrouble #obsessed,” De Minaur captioned his Instagram post.

In response to the post, Boulter humorously questioned whether De Minaur would “replace” her with the cars.

“Sometimes I wonder if you’ll replace me also with a mini one day,” Boulter commented.

De Minaur jokingly replied that the cars don’t make fun of him like she does.

“@katiecboulter Minis don’t make fun of me….” De Minaur replied.
