Aurora, Colorado (KDVR) – The life of Bob Pubot was defined by two feelings: flying and serving his country.
His passion began to fly in 1939, when he was 4 years old, he sat in his father’s bosom during his first plane flight.
“I had the first flying flight when I was four years old,” Bubot recalls. “Since then, all you thought was flying.”
Childhood dream led him to the army – and more than one branch of service.
“I was in a naval weapon first,” he told Fox31. He said: “I went to experimental training, and put me in the navy because I was a student. When I finally finished experimental training and got my wings and was assigned, I went back to the Marine Corps. Then I went to the air force and called the Air Force about three times.”
In the late 1960s, Beabout served as a pilot in Vietnam, behind F-100 controls. He still maintains his old medals and the notes he carried inside the country. Its pages separate his daily experiences – including notes on combat strategies.
When his military service ended, he continued to fly. He spent contracts as Continental and United Airlines. He also joined the Civil Air Patrol, and the search and rescue missions.
At the age of 90, Beabout is no longer behind a plane control, but his legacy still inspires. His friends nominated him for a long time, Charlene and Donald Hetman, to serve those who serve the hero of the month for August 2025.
“A very nice man,” said Charlene.
Danald Chim is around Bebo and his time in the service of the boycott.
“If there is ever a military hero, then he is sitting,” Donald said.
The Bubot family has always been considered as his hero, including his granddaughter, Shayan Smith, who talks about his legacy and the pride he has to serve his country.
Smith said: “It really embodies the American spirit and what it means to be ancient warriors. He lives and breathes for our country.”
The idea of Bouboot is a hero while serving in his country, does not stop there, as his daughter Lee Ann Pegs is also a hero at home.
“He was an amazing father and a great model,” Pegrs said.
Beabout Fox31 tells that he still loves planes, and if he can, he said he still fly to this day.
“I don’t know, I am not driving a car yet,” he said.
