Who are the afrikaner refugees? America welcomes 59 white South Africans as presidents Trump says white farmers are ‘being killed’

State, Virginia – On Monday, the Trump administration welcomed a group of 59 South Africa as refugees, saying they are facing discrimination and violence at home, which the government of the country strongly denies.

The decision to recognize that Africanists raised questions from refugee advocates about the reason for their acceptance when the Trump administration suspended the efforts made to resettle people who flee the war and persecution who have gone through years of scrutiny.

Many in the Group of South Africa – including young children and other young children, even one walks barefoot in pajamas – keep small American flags where two US officials welcomed them in the airport barn outside Washington. South Africa was leaving on other trips to many American destinations.

A group of 49 African was expected, but the Foreign Ministry said on Monday that 59 had arrived.

“I want all of you to know that you are really welcome here and that we respect what you had to deal with in the past few years,” said Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.

President Donald Trump told correspondents earlier on Monday that he was recognized as refugees because of the “genocide that occurs.” He said that after the apartheid in South Africa, he “kills” white farmers and intends to address the issue with the leadership of South Africa next week.

This description has been severely waived by the government and experts in South Africa and even the Afriforum group, which says agricultural attacks are not taken seriously.

The South African government says that the American allegations that the white minority are persecuted “completely wrong”, as a result of the misfortune of information and an inaccurate vision of the country. He pointed to the fact that the Africans are among the richest and most successful people in the country.

A view from South Africa

Speaking at a commercial conference on Ivory Coast, South African President Cyril Ramavusa said on Monday that he spoke with Trump recently and told him that his administration had been fed wrong information by the groups that were touching people as victims due to efforts to correct historical errors in colonialism and the former apartheid system in South Africa, which has eliminated the black majority.

“I had a conversation with President Trump on the phone and asked me,” What is happening there? “I told him that what these people who oppose the transformation in South Africa are not true,” Ramavusa said.

Africans are the largest white group in South Africa and were the leaders of the apartheid government, which brutally imposed racial insulation for approximately 50 years before its termination in 1994. While South Africa was largely successful in reconciling its many races, tensions between some black political parties and some Africanser groups took place.

The Trump administration falsely claimed that the white South Africa had taken their lands by the government under a new confiscation law that enhances the “confiscation of racist discriminatory ownership”. No land was calculated.

Trump promoted the claim that white farmers in South Africa are killing widely until 2018 during his first term.

Conservative commentators promoted the prosecution over genocide against white farmers, and Trump Musk, born in South Africa, published social media that some politicians in the country “actively promote white genocide.”

South Africa has very high levels of violent crimes, and white farmers have been killed in African societies. It was a problem for decades. The government condemns these killings, but it says it is part of the country’s problems.

“There are absolutely no data that there is a persecution between white South Africa or white African people in particular who are farmers,” said South Africa Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola on Monday. “White farmers are affected by the crime just like any other South Africa affected by the crime. So this is not realistic, it is without a foundation.”

The Trump administration says that South Africa, whitening was targeted

Landau said that many of those who arrived on Monday have suffered from “the threat of invasions from their homes and farms and a real lack of attention or the success of the government in doing anything about this situation.”

Landau said that they all have fulfilled strict examination criteria, including the ability to absorb American culture. Refugee program critics indicate that refugees are not properly examined, although supporters say they are going through some of the most strict examination of anyone seeking to come to America.

Trump has suspended the refugee resettlement program indefinitely – which was historically widely supported by the two parties – on his first day in office. A month later, he announced a plan to resettle the whites from South Africa and their families as refugees.

Refugee program supporters ask how the administration justifies accepting this small group while keeping others from conflict areas around the world.

Senator Jin Shaheen, a democratic in New Hampshire, described it as an “rewriting history.”

“The administration should clarify the reason for these individuals to obtain refugee status and resettlement in the United States, and why they were given priority for refugees such as Afghans, Burmese and Sudanese, who fled their homes due to conflict and persecution,” she said in a statement on Monday.

Which can come from South Africa under the Trump regime

According to the American Embassy in South Africa, applicants from South Africa who suffer from African or a member of a racist minority must be able to show a history or fear of persecution.

The population of African, who are the descendants of the Dutch and French colonial settlers, is about 2.7 million South African population of 62 million, which is more than 80 % of the lions.

The American Refugee Program was created by Congress in 1980, and the groups filed a lawsuit with restarting it after Trump stopped.

Traditionally, to qualify as a refugee, applicants must prove a good fear of persecution due to race, religion, nationality, or membership in a specific social group or political opinion. Refugees differ from asylum seekers because refugees must be outside the United States to qualify.

A network of resettlement agencies generally helps to settle in their new homes, and they get 90 days of federal assistance to things like rent. However, the immigration service in the Episcopal Church rejects the directive of the federal government to help resettle the white South Africa, noting “adherence to ethnic justice and reconciliation.”
