ASAN (KXAN) – A former primary music teacher in Eans Independent School District, who was arrested in February, is now accused of sexual pornography with sexual performance by the child under the age of 14, according to court records.
In February, the Texas Ministry of Public Safety carried out an inspection order at Zakari Barnet residence and seized a total of 13 digital devices according to the written statement. Among these files – the testimony said that DPS found more than 8000 pictures and videos of the BARNETT students.
“Violation of our confidence, and our students, of course, took advantage of, this is very annoying.”
The linear certificate states that “the pictures grow in the skirts of female students, their underwear, and the area of the escort.”
Kxan parents spoke to them, telling us that they were concerned about where the pictures could end.
“they [DPS] I worked with national organizations to determine that no of our students’ pictures have been loaded and that they took the additional step, while making sure that if there were any pictures of our children there, they will be removed and we are trying to follow these operations with them as well, “said Arnit.
In a message to the parents of Cedar Creek Elementary, Arnett took the latest information issued to the region.
“Especially annoyed, it is the new details that were revealed in the matter of the Travis Province that the Public Safety Administration authorities (DPS) had identified and began monitoring Barnett on January 13, 2025, while he knew that he was a teacher in our school. This was a full month before ISD police were included in the first degree. Unfortunately, we were not informed for several weeks with the start of the investigation of it, which is terrible.

Some parents told KXAN that they do not believe that the boycott is doing enough to keep them aware or keep their children safe.
“This has now spanned about eight weeks in our region, so we used to live this with the parents,” Arnenet said. “We learned this at the same time as they did. We were disappointed that they did not notify them until a month after DPS officials knew the first time this activity.”
KXAN has communicated with DPS to comment on the investigation, as well as what they are doing to ensure that the photos are not shared online, but we haven’t heard at this time. We will update this if a statement is received.
