One of the Buffalo Bills’ biggest areas of concern was wide receiver, and on April 30, they signed Elijah Moore to a one-year, $5 million deal. Now, the team has another threat out wide for quarterback Josh Allen.
Moore had an unrestricted free agent tender placed on him by the Cleveland Browns, meaning he had until July 22 to sign with another team or the Browns would retain his rights. Moore spent the last two seasons in Cleveland and finished last year with 61 catches on 102 targets for 538 yards (8.8 yards per catch) and one touchdown.
Elijah Moore Excited To Join the Buffalo Bills
Moore is preparing to play for his third team in five years. He played his first two seasons with the New York Jets and his last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Now that his rookie contract has expired, he has to wait until after the 2025 NFL Draft to get a contract with the Buffalo Bills. Moore posted on social media that he is excited to join the Bills Mafia and the team.
Back in that red and blue 😍🫡Time to go be GREAT. Grateful for the opportunity! Cant wait to meet BILLS MAFIA ❤️💙

His reference to wearing red and blue again ties back to his college days at Ole Miss, where the Rebels share the same colors. The signing comes a few days after Bills general manager Brandon Beane appeared on “The Jeremy and Joe Show” on WGR550 in Buffalo and addressed criticism about the team not drafting a wide receiver.
On One Bills Live, Beane also confirmed that Moore has had conversations with the team about signing with the Bills since before the NFL Draft.
“Elijah Moore is here. He’s a guy we’ve spoken to a few times leading up to the draft and we just kind of put a pin in it, just like we did several other positions and said ‘hey, let’s wait until after the draft and see where we’re at, see if he’s still interested.’ If we took a guy in the first or second round, he’s probably not too interested. But we didn’t, and so, you know, we picked up those conversations over the weekend.
“He and his wife came up [on Monday] and visited. So, we’ll see. Nothing imminent today or anything like that, but a very good visit, and we’ll see where it goes.”
With Moore now part of the Bills’ WR room, expect him to make the 53-man roster, as positional depth in Buffalo is certainly needed.
