FIFA World Cup could bring half a billion dollars to Bay Area: CA senator

(Crohn) – California member of the Special Committee, which supervises the 2026 FIFA World Cup, says that the global sporting event can bring more than half a billion dollars to both the Gulf and Los Angeles.

The state, Dave Cortez (Wadi Delicon), announced on Friday that he was appointed to the Senate Special Senate Committee for International Sports.

Levi Stadium in Santa Clara – San Francisco 49ers – will host six matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June and July. There are eight matches in the World Cup scheduled for Los Angeles.

The party committee of 11 Senate was assigned to make sure that California is ready to host the World Cup and Olympics 2028, which is expected to bring millions of fans to the state.

“California will be on the world stage of these huge sporting events, and I will do my best to ensure public safety, transport and infrastructure in the best possible cases to make these events go smoothly,” said Senator Cortez, Chairman of the Senate Transport Committee.

The Senate Special Committee will hold a series of listening sessions in the coming months.
