Suspect found guilty of first-degree murder in deadly rock throwing trial

Denver (KDVR)-The jury found that Joseph Kyungig, 20, was guilty of a first-class murder with the death of Alexa Bartel, who was twenty-year-old, who was killed when a rock came through the windshield and hit it in the head.

On Friday, the jury found that Keonig is guilty on 19 charges, including an attempt to commit a first -class murder, reckless threat, third -degree assault, second -class attack, attempt to commit the second -class attack, attempt to commit the third -degree attack and attempt to reckless murder.

Some of these were less important than the claim. The ruling will be issued on June 3 at 8:30 am

The trial of the third person participating in Bartel’s death began on April 14 before the jury entered the deliberations on Thursday afternoon. The jury circulated for about a day before it reached the ruling.

Three high school students throwing large rocks in traffic cars on the night of April 19, 2023. Bartel was driving its car in the 10-600 mass from Indiana Street in Jefferson County when a rock passed through the windshield, hitting it in the head and killing it.

Quinig, 18, was at the time, a trial for first -class murder. He claimed that he was the person who finally threw the rock that killed Bartel.

Koenig was one of the 18-year-old defendants, but the defendants Nicholas Carroll-Chic and Zakari Kwak took over the confession of guilt, and took guilty on less charges in exchange for approval of the certificate in the Koenig trial.

Zakari Kwak, who was in the car with Quinig, admitted that he was guilty in May 2023 for one of the first -class assault, a second -degree assault and an additional number of criminal attempt to commit the attack. As part of the approval deal, it will serve at least 20 years but not more than 32 years old.

Nicholas “Mitch” Carroll Chic, who was also in the car, admitted that he was guilty in May 2024 for second -degree murder, criminal attempt to commit a first -class murder and violent crime, which could be uncomfortable.
