'Aggressive,' day-biting mosquitoes capable of spreading dengue invade San Jose

(KON)-A kind of mosquitoes known as aggressive behavior today recently in San Jose, according to Santa Clara province officials.

The types of mosquitoes, AEDES AEGYPTI, publish diseases such as dengue, chiconia, zika and yellow fever.

SCC Vector Control found that mosquitoes in the Santa Teresa neighborhood in southern San Jose. The same invasive species were found in the Santa Teresa neighborhood in 2024. 388 gaseous mosquitoes were besieged in six locations in San Jose, Jelawi and Santa Clara in 2024.

Former officials tried to stop the spread of mosquitoes in the area by removing stagnant water, as mosquitoes lay their eggs. The Director of the Consumer and Environment Consumer Agency requests to help the public prevent the invading defect from establishing himself in the region.

“The fact that we found AEDES AEGYPTI again in 2025 it means that it has gained a foothold in our boycott, and we need to work in partnership with society to prevent it from spreading,” Nollasco said. “We need an effort at the community level to find and eliminate these mosquitoes. I would like to thank the resident who reported the mosquitoes that spends one day for us, which enabled us to prepare and identify traps.”

Residents of Santa Clara Province are required to take the following precautions:

  • Allow government mosquito experts to reach their arenas and characteristics to verify and treat mosquitoes as needed.
  • Baid Awad Report immediately to the vertical control area (408) 918-4770 or [email protected]. Residents can also send mosquitoes to alive or dead mosquitoes.
  • Empty any external containers full of water and clean them by cleaning them with hot water, soap or a diluted whitening solution. Cleaning and cleaning of bird baths, pets and other containers can remove any AEDES AEGEPTI eggs, which are about half a mm in size and look like small parts of dirt to the naked eye.

So far, gaseous mosquitoes have not spread dengue, Zika or Chiconia in Santa Clara Province. However, health officials, such as the Director of the Ministry of Health, warned Sarah Rodman that international travelers are diagnosed regularly with these diseases after returning to the United States

“If this mosquitoes become common in the province of Santa Clara, it will eventually start spreading diseases,” said Rodman. “These diseases are dangerous and will change the experience of mosquito bite from disturbing health risks. To protect your family and neighbors, please follow the recommendations of government mosquito experts.”

AEDES AEGYPTI is described by about a quarter of an inch with black and white lines on its back and legs. The species feed almost exclusively on humans and does not generally fly from 500 feet from the place where it is hatching.

Species have arisen in Africa and since then they spread to other parts of the world, such as Central America. AEDES AEGYPTI was discovered in four provinces in the Gulf region. However, the same species have not been proven in the region, the officials say. The mosquitoes were created in 22 provinces in California, including the Central Valley and South California areas.

SCC officials said: “Evidence means that mosquitoes have formed a group of residents and successfully resorting to the local environment.” “The gas mosquitoes are very aggressive and active during the day, unlike the original mosquito groups, which are more active in the morning and evening, when the temperatures are cold.”
