Alex Pereira’s absence from the UFC’s list of its top-five greatest walkouts has seemingly piqued the attention of a well-known MMA influencer, Nina-Marie Daniele.
The public personality, who has collaborated with Pereira for several of her video skits, expressed surprise at his exclusion.
MMA Influencer Questions Alex Pereira’s Absence from UFC Walkouts List
An Instagram post by ESPN MMA’s official handle featured UFC’s top-five greatest walkouts list, ranked by the promotion.
It included “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at No. 1. Darren Till was given the No. 2 position, whereas Alexander Volkanovski bagged the No. 3 spot. Conor McGregor was given the No. 4 rank, and Ilia Topuria was at No. 5.
Prominent MMA media personality and influencer Nina-Marie Daniele commented on the aforementioned Instagram post. She questioned why Alex Pereira wasn’t on the list.
Daniele’s comment read, “How is Alex Pereira not included?”
Over the years, Pereira, who hails from Brazil’s Pataxo tribe, has garnered praise for his unique fight walkouts. On multiple occasions, he utilized traditional headgear and the signature bow-and-arrow gestures to pay homage to his Indigenous roots.
The former two-division Glory Kickboxing champion and former two-division UFC champion’s walkout, including his war cry, is quite popular among combat sports fans.
Pereira’s most recent fight ended his reign as UFC light heavyweight champion. He was outpointed by Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 in March 2025. “Poatan” has since been on a quest to reclaim his 205-pound title from Ankalaev.
They’re expected to clash in an immediate rematch later this year. While speculation has swirled that the rematch could transpire in August 2025, an official announcement hasn’t been made yet.
Breaking Down UFC’s Top-5 Walkouts
As indicated in the post, Chan Sung Jung topped the list for his incredible entrance at UFC Singapore in August 2023. Jung faced former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway in the event’s headlining match and got knocked out in the third round. It ended up being the final fight of the now-retired South Korean fighter’s MMA career.
Meanwhile, Darren Till got the No. 2 spot for his entrance at UFC Liverpool in May 2018. The Liverpudlian fought and outpointed Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in the event’s headlining match.
As for Volkanovski, he got the No. 3 spot for his entrance at UFC 284 in February 2023. The Australian fighter moved up in weight to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev and ended up losing a razor-thin unanimous decision.
Combat sports megastar Conor McGregor’s No. 4 spot on the list was attributed to his iconic entrance, featuring a live performance of “Foggy Dew” by Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, at UFC 189 in July 2015. McGregor headlined the card, defeating Chad Mendes via TKO to capture the interim UFC featherweight title.
Topuria secured the No. 5 position on the list for his entrance at UFC 308 in Oct. 2024. The Georgian-Spaniard headlined the event and knocked out Max Holloway to successfully defend the UFC featherweight title.
