After the man withdrew, the authorities said that instructions were instructed to deliver money to a PayPal official at his residence “as a payment to withdraw the unauthorized account.”
“Fortunately, the sponsorship presenter called on a pretty of the resident daughter who contacted Atheon Police,” the ministry said.
A suspect was arrested after the officers responded. Its identity has not been launched by ATHERTON PD.
The authorities said that the fraudsters often form “as government officials, law enforcement employees, facilities employees, or even relatives in ordeal.” Atheer Police reminds the community:
- Do not send money, gift cards, or wire transport operations to people you do not know.
- Check the messages and phone calls independently. For example, holding a person who claims to be a member of his family and calling him directly using a well -known number.
- Never click on links or open attachments in emails or unwanted messages.
The police encourage people to talk to the family or trusted friends, or contact the police, before making money -related decisions. “We also encourage families to have open conversations about fraud and thinking about helping elderly loved ones to monitor suspicious communications,” said Atheon PD.
