SANA Francisco (KON)-San Francisco State University students, faculty, employees and graduates are planning to take their message to the streets on Thursday-demanding that legislators in California be re-investing in public higher education, starting from the 2025-26 budget.
The activities of the campus will start at 10 am, followed by a 2 pm Rally in the center of San Francisco, as part of the National Day to work to defend higher education.
The National Day is to work to defend higher education, “a group of teachers, researchers, employees, students and community members to enhance the democratic mission of American colleges and universities,” according to SFSU.
The school said in a press statement on Tuesday that the previous budget cuts forced SFSU to remove the classroom and “lay off almost all faculty members over decades to another.”
“We welcome the news that the Senate in the state has listened to their voters and activists and refused to reduce the 8 % budget budget proposed by the Gavin New News Governor to the California State University system, and instead he suggested increasing financing for public higher education,” said James Martel of the SFSU Association Department. “We now need to continue to pressure in order to invest in public higher education. We also need to ensure that this funding is spent directly on education and not on management projects or artificial intelligence.”
SFSU said that the proposal of newsom will equal job losses for 100 additional professors, including independent faculty.
“These discounts have made it difficult to obtain the classrooms that we need to graduate while reducing our education level by working on our excessive professors, and left only a little time to prepare their curricula,” said Brian Yan, a beginner student in his specialty in cinema and history.
SFSU plans were announced last month to reduce three sports programs as part of budget planning. Eliminating the difference – including the path and the inner field of women, the baseball, and football for men – will be valid on July 1.
The day of the demonstration begins at 10 am, “with education that students lead to cuts in budget and struggle for public education. It will be followed at 11 am with an education led by the teaching staff to defend civil freedoms and democratic rights. The flash bank is scheduled to be on the comprehensive phone to appear.”
SFSU said that the gathering sponsored by the California College Association SFSU, UAW 4123 and the Student Union.
