McDonald’s is tapping into the world of Minecraft with new meals inspired by the upcoming film “A Minecraft Movie.”
On Thursday, the fast-food chain revealed its latest meal bundle, A Minecraft Movie Meal and A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal, which will be available nationwide beginning April 1.
A Minecraft Movie Meal features a choice of a Big Mac, a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, or a McSpicy chicken sandwich. It also includes medium fries and a medium fountain drink, all packaged in pixelated-themed packaging.
For the adult meal, customers can get one of six exclusive collectibles, such as:
- Big Mac Crystal – Mined from the sea of special sauce, this precious block derives its radiant shine from melty processed cheese and a toasty sesame seed bun.
- Birdie Wings – Keep your eye to the sky or you might miss the early bird soaring high above the clouds with a rare pair of elytra wings.
- Fry Helmet – Forged from the iconic red Fry box, this enchanted helmet is rumored to protect you from friends stealing your last fry.
- Grimace Egg – Emerging from the depths of a purple shake, this magical Grimace mob gets its shape from the most coveted egg of them all.
- Soda Potion – The electrifying effect of this potion is as mysterious as its recipe: an accidental combo of fantastic fizzy flavors.
- Zombie Hamburger – Little is known about this hungry mob who spawns late at night and wanders all biomes in search of hamburgers.
McDonald’s is also introducing the limited-edition Nether Flame sauce, a spicy chili dipping sauce inspired by The Nether. It features cayenne, chili pepper, garlic, and a touch of sweetness.
A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal features the choice of a hamburger, four-piece chicken nuggets, or six-piece chicken nuggets. Each meal also includes fries, apple slices, and a kids’ drink, such as chocolate milk or apple juice.
Happy Meal packaging includes a scannable code for an exclusive digital game in which players can complete their own quest in the Minecraft Movie world.
Toys in the collection include:
- Blockheads – Pink Sheep, Bee, Skeleton, Creeper, Evoker, and Dennis.
- Block Worlds – Gold Block & Dawn, Grass Block & Llama, Redstone Block & Creeper, Diamond Block & Steve, Pink Wool Block & Pink Sheep, and Stone Block & Garrett.
A Minecraft Movie hit theaters on April 4.
