Former deputy to be sentenced in death of Christian Glass

Denver (KDVR)-Andrew Bowen will be sentenced to former Claire Creek County Office Andrew Bowen on Monday after being convicted of a criminal negligence of a 22-year-old Christian death in 2022.

This ruling comes after Bowen was convicted of the reckless danger in the first trial in 2024, but the jury had been subjected to a dead end to the second -degree murder and the misconduct. After a second trial, the jury chose less than the original second -degree murder, and Bowen was convicted of a criminal negligence.

Now, Bowen will be judged on Monday.

Christian Glass shot, was killed after calling 911

Glass called the number 911 on June 10, 2022, after his car stumbled into a dam on the side of the road in a silver column. During the call, Glass told the messengers that he had knives, his family said he was packed for the amateur geology trip, and he was afraid to get out of the car.

The officers arrived, and for more than an hour, they tried to get the glass out of the car. Camera shots worn by the body showed months of shooting a glass that expresses fear and unusual behavior in the confrontation. The glass can also be seen making heart formulas with his hands before the police shattered a window, fired on it several times and used Taser twice.

In court, the defense did not oppose that Bowen fired his weapon, but this glass was hostile and a threat to deputies. Meanwhile, the prosecution argued that the glass was suffering from the mental health crisis and needed help.

After the suspended jury was not able to condemn Bowen only for the reckless danger of his role in the death of Glass, the second trial was convicted of a criminal murder.

Other officers were also charged for their role in the death of Glass.

Former sergeant Claire Creek Sharif. Kyle Gold acknowledged that he was guilty on charges of adjusting the failure to interfere and sentenced in November 2023 to two years in prison without any prison. Meanwhile, the duty to interfere in charges has been rejected by the two officers who face charges regarding the death of Glass.
