Eaton man sentenced to more than 100 years after attempting to murder 2 officers

KDVR – Wild County man was sentenced to more than 100 years in prison for trying to kill two police officers in 2021.

On Friday, the nineteenth judicial prosecutor’s office said that Levi Miller, 34, was sentenced to 156 years in prison at the Ministry of Reform at Colorado.

On Tuesday, Miller’s jury condemned the following charges:

  • Two charges to try to kill first degree – after deliberations
  • Two charges of first -class attack
  • Four charges of first -class murder – extreme indifference

The condemnation and referee stems from an accident on September 24, 2021. On that day, two Etone police officers were called for a report on a local conflict in Miller’s house. When the officers arrived, the DA office said that Miller was armed with a MK47 rifle with a 100 -loaded drum.

DA office said that Miller fired 30 rounds at the officers. The officers returned the fire and hit Miller.

During the shooting, according to Miller, a neighbors’ house was eight times beaten – one bullet hit the gas line, and the other seven shots hit the wall of a bedroom where two children were asleep.

“These officers were simply doing their work through that night by serving and protecting their community,” said District Deputy Country Michael Berraglia. “I don’t care if you call it luck, grace, or a miracle. The fact that none of these people can walk in the courtroom today is amazing.”

“Their entire job is to help people, protect people, and maintain our societies safe.” The Wildi Audrey Gallowi province was told the defendant during the verdict. “It is amazing for me that you haven’t killed someone on that day.”

After the investigation, the Wild County Lawyer in Wildi Province, Michael Rork, wiped both officers and decided that they were justified by law in their actions.
