Necropsy of dead whale in SF Bay confirms ship strike

San Francisco (Kron) – Two dead whales were found in San Francisco Bay during the past week. On Tuesday, the TMMC Center (TMMC) submitted an update after resenting the bodies of the gray whale, which confirms that the death was caused by a strike from the ship.

A gray whale of mineral adult males east of Angel Island was found on Wednesday before it was pulled to landing the next day to perform more examination. On Friday, scientists with TMMC and the California Academy of Science performed anatomy, or an dissection of the animal corpse.

Wildlife officials, which indicated that he had recently ate that this gray whale “found that this gray whale is in good condition with a complete stomach,” which indicates that it had ate recently. The Angel Island whale has not appeared “initial evidence of the shock of sharp power in line with the ship’s strike.”

Scientists are planning to reconsider the sacrifice to learn more about the cause of the death of whales.

Another dead gray whale, a sub -man who was identified to be a well -known individual called “Denali”, was found on Friday that was hunting in rocks outside from the Fort Point Rock beach in San Francisco. The officials noted that Denali was also a “healthy individual”.

TMMC said: “Experts confirmed that the whale has maintained six paragraphs of the broken spine and was associated with bleeding in the area.” Wildlife officials said the deadly injuries indicate a bowl.

Officials said Denali was known among the local whale monitors “because of a large white spot in the form of Alaska on her left side.” The whale was first seen in San Francisco Bay on March 28.

On March 30, the first body of a dead whale washed on the beach in the Gulf region this year was found in Black Sands Beach at Marin Headlands. An autopsy of this gray whale revealed that he was underweight, although the cause of death was not determined immediately.

The Nahliya Mammals Center said that ship strikes are a major cause of death for the large whale on the California coast. Anyone who sees a whale in the San Francisco Bay area is required to report it using the free whale alert application.
