Meta, the parent company for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, did not say when the offices will be officially closed. The technology giant has not given the reason for its decision to close these offices.
Employees working in these offices are integrated into “other offices in the region”, according to a Meta statement sent to Kron4. Although the company has many offices in Fremont, the Meta headquarters is located via Dumbarton Bridge Bridge in Menlo Park at Hacker Way.
Other dead offices are located in the Gulf region in San Francisco, Susalito, Borlinjami, Sangell, Santa Clara and Mount Vio.
The closure of the office comes after Meta announced in January that it will reduce about 5 percent of its working power, which leads to the loss of about 3,600 people. Workers’ demobilization was based on performance, and those who considered “low organizers” lost their jobs.
Last fall, Meta has also undergone a round of layoffs for employees working under WhatsApp and Instagram platforms, along with the virtual reality unit, LITAL LABS.
