KDVR – Two victims announced in the afternoon on Saturday outside the Fort Collins Mall, and the police arrested a suspect in Fort Collins on Sunday morning.
The shooting on the sidewalk took place outside the Fothills Center in 200 blocks of East Foothills Parkway at approximately 5 pm on Saturday. The police have identified two victims who were transferred to a local hospital, where they later died, Police services said in a press statement on Sunday morning.
Police said that the pathologist’s office would release the identities of the victims.
The mall and the adjacent cinematic theater were suspended, and the officers were created by their way through the Commercial Center for Security Evaluation. The scene remained closed until midnight for the investigators to collect evidence.
Investigators later identified a suspect of male events and arrested him. Police said that he would not be identified because of his age.
“The investigators have worked throughout the night in this case and were able to take arrest,” said the assistant president of Frank Barrett, who is supervising the FCPS Criminal Investigation Division. “Although such events are rare in Fort Collins, our officers maintain a high level of training to ensure their willingness to maintain the safety of our city, regardless of scarcity. There is still a lot of work that must be done as we continue to work in this issue. Thanks to all our partner agencies that responded to help in the integrity of the scene.”
Police said there are no indications of additional victims, and they believe that this may be an accident related to the gangs. Police said that it is expected to have additional charges, although they did not say what these charges were.
