Erica Mena is celebrating her daughter Safire Majesty’s sixth birthday.
On Wednesday, one day after Safire’s birthday, Mena took to Instagram to share a tribute that included a video montage of her daughter throughout the years.
In the caption, Mena reflected on how becoming a mother to a daughter changed her life.
“She’s Officially 6 Years old @safiremajesty. Becoming a mother to a daughter changes a woman in ways nothing else can,” she wrote.
Safire is Mena’s daughter with her ex-husband Safaree Samuels. The former Love & Hip Hop stars married in October 2019 and divorced in 2022 after a highly publicized and tumultuous relationship.
“She was already in my life during a season of heartbreak. Watching me navigate pain, strength and survival and not long after, her little brother followed. But my daughter was the beginning of my softening. She taught me that gentleness is not weakness.That femininity is powerful. That love doesn’t have to come with pain attached to it,” she continued.
Mena went on to describe Safire’s personality and the values she hopes to instill in her.
“She is light. Affectionate, peaceful, deeply loving and connected to her family. She loves fashion, she loves her mama and she moves through life with a pure, unguarded soul.”
Erica Mena then reflected on what it means for her daughter to see her working and providing for her family.
“She also watches me work relentlessly to provide for her and her brothers. She sees the discipline, the sacrifice and the commitment it takes to build a good life. And because of that I already know she’s growing into a powerful, driven, goal-getting woman, one who understands both softness and strength.”
The proud mom closed her tribute by reflecting on how motherhood has shaped her.
“Six years of learning, healing and becoming a better woman — not just for her but because of her. I’m so proud I’m @safiremajesty Mother… Happy 6th Birthday Safire Majesty.”
