AUSTIN (KXAN) — We’re just two and a half weeks away from the final average freeze of the season in Austin.
How many freezes this season?
Officially at Austin’s Camp Mabry, the city has seen seven freezes since Nov. 1. Most of the freezes this winter came last week, when temperatures were below freezing for several days in a row, including some record lows.
When is the last freeze of the season?
February 15 is the final intermediate freeze date of the season in Austin at Camp Mabry. This is the 30-year average from 1991 to 2020.

Over the past few years, our most recent freezes spanned from mid-February to mid-March, and all of them came in later than average, except for 2024.
