Culver City is offering commuters a chance to trade rush hour stress for live music and mocktails during its new “Vibes After Five” series, a free after-work event designed to help locals relax and connect.
The first event of the series take places this Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Culver Steps on Culver Boulevard.
The event features live DJ sets by KCRW’s Tyler “Boogie” Boudreaux, outdoor games and non-alcoholic craft cocktails from Curious Elixirs courtesy of Burden of Proof, a South Pasadena-based non-alcoholic bottle shop.
Culver City officials say Vibes After Five is meant to offer a fun alternative to sitting in post-work gridlock and encourage the use of public transportation. Those traveling into the city to attend the event can take the Culver City Circulator, a free shuttle that takes riders around downtown with easy connections to the LA Metro E Line station.
Real-time tracking of Culver City’s transit options can be found online.
Thursday’s event is the first of three planned Vibes after Five events in Culver City, with another scheduled for April 24 at C3 on Bristol Parkway, and May 14 at the Stealth Building on Hayden Avenue.
