Jaradi Reed: The Trail Conservance is a non -profit 501 (3) (3) with an operating agreement along with Parks and RC. We are helping to care for 300 acres along the long -distance walking path and bikes here in the center of Austin. There are a lot of ways to participate. If you go to our site, Trailconservance.orgWe manage volunteer events at the end of each week. We also have a set of exciting events in April, including a large garbage cleaning process, Earth Day, Bio Blitz in the Holly area, where we get children to microscopic and people who have collar networks, and we really learn about biological diversity and everything that is there.
house: What are some different types of flowers that must be searched for these paths?
Red: Currently, with the last rains, you will start seeing Bluebonnets, followed by Paints and Firewheels. You will also start seeing Purple HorsEMint and Greg’s Mistflower. Along with wild flowers, you will also notice wooden species, shrubs and trees that are also starting to open.
house: What are the best places to see these flowers on the road?
Red: On the corridor, we broadcast about 30 acres of wild flower areas every year. The largest on the eastern side, at Festival Beach. There is another large one on the western side near Austin Hai, and there is also a large and continuous space between Lamar and the Congress, as well as between Cesar Chavez and Darb.
house: How do we protect these wonderful flowers during these months?
Red: I think the biggest thing is to stay on a path as much as you can. Flowers are somewhat flexible, depending on a mixture of rain and specific weather conditions. This last weather will really help them come out a lot.
