Andre Agassi Devotes Himself to His New Pet As He Reveals Amusing Detail About His ‘First Doggy Friend’

Andre Agassi gave his followers a wholesome moment to enjoy as he showed off an early adventure of Copper, the newest four-legged member of the household. The tennis legend posted a charming photo of the young English Cocker Spaniel seemingly making a “friend” in the park.

How Has Copper Added to the Andre Agassi-Steffi Graf Family’s Long-Standing Love for Pets?

Copper joined the family in October, adding fresh energy to a home already known for its strong family bonds and love for animals. Agassi and Steffi Graf, who married in 2001, have built a life that blends their shared tennis legacy with a grounded, family-first lifestyle.

Their children, Jaden and Jaz Elle, grew up around their parents’ passion for sports and a household full of pets. Over the years, their animals have become an integral part of the extended family, including their late Great Dane, Blue, and their cat, Sweetie. Copper’s arrival not only continues that tradition but also offers fans an intimate look into the couple’s warm domestic life.

In the image Agassi shared, Copper stands confidently beside a dog statue in a park, almost as if posing for a friendly portrait. Agassi paired the photo with a playful caption: “Copper’s first doggy friend. until he gets his final vaccinations.”

Agassi spoke about reconnecting with tennis after years devoted to family life with Graf. With their children, Jaden and Jaz, now grown, he said the “empty nester” phase has opened the door for his return to the sport. Since retiring in 2006, he has primarily focused on raising his children and managing the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education.

“I went through a good 15 years of raising my kids and finishing up my foundation in a way that it can live in perpetuity and building a few businesses,” Agassi said in a Laver Cup press conference. “Now my kids are — we’re kind of empty-nesters, and I had the bandwidth to come back to tennis on a certain level and really appreciate the difference between what it was and what it is now.”

Jaden chose baseball over his parents’ iconic tennis path, making steady progress in the sport. He impressed as a pitcher at USC before moving on to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the MLB Draft League.

Jaz, meanwhile, has explored interests such as dance, fashion, and fitness, yet remains connected to tennis, often sharing snapshots from the court.
