Alexander Zverev recently enjoyed a golf date with his girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla, during his off-season. They also brought along their new puppy, a golden-brown Dachshund named Mishka, on their outing.
Thomalla shared glimpses of her and Zverev’s golf date on social media. The couple has been together for five years, having started their relationship in 2020.
Alexander Zverev Goes on Golf Date With Girlfriend Sophia Thomalla During Off-Season
Zverev’s last competition on the ATP Tour during the 2025 season was the ATP Finals. He was seeded third in the tournament and began his campaign by defeating fifth seed Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6(6).
The former world No. 2 then lost to eventual champion Jannik Sinner (4-6, 3-6) and Félix Auger-Aliassime (4-6, 6-7(4)) in the next two group stage matches, preventing him from advancing further in the tournament.
After wrapping up his campaign in Turin, Zverev returned to his home in Germany. Thomalla took to social media and shared a series of pictures and videos from their golf date, including a photo of Zverev with their puppy, Mishka.
This season, Zverev secured just one title: the 2025 BMW Open, where he defeated Shelton in the final, claiming his 24th career ATP Tour title. He also finished as the runner-up at the BOSS Open and the Vienna Open, losing to Taylor Fritz and Sinner in the finals, respectively.
Zverev had semifinal runs at the 2025 Halle Open, Canadian Open, Cincinnati Open, and the Paris Masters. He also reached the quarterfinals at the Argentina Open, Rio Open, Italian Open, and the China Open.
At the Grand Slam tournaments, Zverev was the runner-up to Sinner at the 2025 Australian Open. He also reached the quarterfinals at the French Open. He faced early exits at the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open, losing in the first round and the third round, respectively.
Zverev To Begin His 2026 Season at United Cup
Zverev will begin his 2026 season by representing Germany at the United Cup. Last year, Team Germany claimed the title by defeating Team Poland 2-1 in the final. In 2025, while defending their title, Germany lost 1-2 to Team Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals.
Next year, the mixed-gender team event is scheduled to take place from Jan. 2 to Jan. 11, 2026. The matches will be held in Perth and Sydney at the RAC Arena and the Ken Rosewall Arena, respectively.
Team Germany has been placed in Group F alongside Team Poland and Team Netherlands, and they will be competing in Sydney. Other participating countries include defending champions Team USA, Spain, and Argentina in Group A; Canada, Belgium, and China in Group B; Italy, France, and Switzerland in Group C; Australia, the Czech Republic, and Norway in Group D; and Great Britain, Greece, and Japan in Group E.
The German team will consist of three men’s players and three women’s players: Zverev, Eva Lys, Patrick Zahraj, Kevin Krawietz, Laura Siegemund, and Mina Hodzic.
