San Diego State vs. Hawaii Head-to-Head Record
Anyone looking for parity in a series should look elsewhere, because the Aztecs dominated this series the entire time. They’ve yet to lose more than two games in a row, and are currently riding a five-game winning streak.
While the first matchup occurred in 1939, the two sides have only faced each other 39 times, with the Aztecs holding a 26-11-2 lead. The past four matchups have all been within one score, and that trend is expected to continue in Saturday’s matchup.

San Diego State vs. Hawaii Prediction
Sean Lewis knows how to coach, which is why he’s linked to multiple job openings. His Aztecs are off to a 7-1 start, but in their way is a Hawaii team more than capable of upsetting them. They sit at the top of the Mountain West, and their playoff hopes are still alive as well.
The biggest matchup of the weekend will be the Rainbow Warriors’ passing attack (seventh in passing offense) against the Aztecs’ pass defense (ninth). One of them must give this weekend, and the winner of that battle determines the outcome.
Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado doesn’t possess the desired frame at the next level, but he operates Timmy Chang’s offense well. Multiple options at wide receiver give him options, and make the offense one of the toughest to stop in the conference.
If Hawaii finds rhythm offensively, they’ll win. It’s just tough to do that against the Aztecs, who move the ball efficiently and keep opposing offenses in check.
Prediction: San Diego State 28, Hawaii 21
