Man, 58, shot during argument about car in Southern California

A 58-year-old San Bernardino County man is recovering after being shot by one of four men after a dispute over a car escalated, authorities in San Bernardino County announced Wednesday.

The violence broke out on Oct. 28 in the 9200 block of Espada Street in Hesperia at around 4 p.m., according to SBSD. press release.

Investigators said four men were involved in an altercation in John Huddleston’s garage when a fight occurred, prompting one of the unknown suspects to pull out a gun and shoot the 58-year-old in the leg.

When responding deputies arrived, they found Huddleston in the front yard of his home suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was airlifted to a nearby trauma center and later released, investigators said.

It is unclear what prompted the men to fight over the car, and authorities have not said whether the victim knew the four men, who supposedly fled before police arrived.
