Bay Area car sales surge before Trump tariffs go into effect

Burlingami, California (Crohn– More definitions are set to enter into force on Wednesday. President Trump plans to implement a 25 percent tariff on cars and auto parts coming from other countries, and sending car sales throughout the country and in the Gulf region.

Ocean Honda of Burlingme says that the agency has been very busy since the weekend. In fact, its sales multiplied three times compared to this time last year.

Many customers were not present as Ocean Honda of Burlingame was preparing to close on Tuesday night. However, earlier in the day, the seller Niko Luza says the agency was over 60 clients.

Luza said: “I never saw this Sunday last Sunday … never,” Luza said. “All our compartments were all filled, until we had some clients walking in the back on their own. The entire sales room was full, and we were doing our best to focus from putting our attention.”

Register for sale – Sell 16 cars on Sunday and Fourth on Tuesday.

Loza said with a muffled laugh: “We are next to the city center, so we get a lot of walking, but last Sunday they felt the day of the presidents, the day of the anniversary … all combined.”

On average, this agency sells 110 cars per month.

But Luza and his colleagues estimate that sales will reach 140 cars this month. This is because buyers are trying to seize a hot car – before the new tariff starts by 25 percent on imported cars.

Joseline Lopez has picked up the new Honda in Burlingame’s agent. She says that as soon as she learned of the customs tariff, she jumped on the best deal to get a new car.

“So I was like … …” Oh! I am lucky! “Because I know that I think it will go up like 25 percent, so I thank God, I got it at the right time and at the right moment,” Lopez said.

Ocean Honda of Burlingame says he is not only his location, which has seen a sales flow. However, they are concerned about the decrease in sales as soon as the new definitions are valid.
