In the Senate, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) introduced a resolution to make October 14, 2025 — which would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday — National Charlie Kirk Day of Remembrance. Scott called Kirk’s death a “devastating loss.”
“Charlie was a good man – a devout husband, father and friend,” Scott said in his book. comments. The case against the suspect in Kirk’s death continues
Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with murder in Kirk’s death. The prosecution intends to seek the death penalty.

The preliminary hearing will determine whether there is enough evidence against Robinson to proceed to trial. Defendants could waive that step, but Robinson’s newly appointed attorney, Katherine Nester, said her team has no intention of doing so.
The next hearing in this case is scheduled for the end of October.
