Is Bobby Petrino Married? Everything to Know About the Arkansas Coach’s Family

Preparing to take on the No. 12 Tennessee Volunteers Saturday night for his first game back as head coach of Arkansas. Speaking to CBS Sports, Petrino revealed that he’s simply “blessed” to have the support of the program and his family.

“And I’m just a very blessed person to have my family stick with me, have my wife stick with me, have coach Pitt(man) give me a second chance to come back here and contribute at a place that I love.” The interim head coach shared.

Petrino and his wife, Becky, met while they were both students at Carroll College, with the two tying the knot on July 20, 1985. Their marriage went through one of the biggest scandals in college football history when Petrino was fired for an extramarital affair during his first stint with the Razorbacks.

During the 2012 campaign, when the Razorbacks were predicted to be one of the best teams in the SEC, the interim head coach got into a motorcycle accident, where it was revealed that Petrino was on his motorcycle with Jessica Dorrell.

Dorrell, a former Arkansas volleyball player, was hired by Petrino as the Razorbacks’ player development coordinator. Later on, it was revealed that the head had been involved in an inappropriate relationship with the former coordinator, who was 25 years old at the time.

“Looking at the look in her eyes, how could I possibly do something like this, to hurt her? The anger. The feeling of, ‘How could you possibly do this to me?’” Petrino shared in an interview the moment he revealed the incident to his wife.

Following the affair, Becky has mostly remained private in the media, and not many details are known about the head coach’s wife outside of her husband and children. Despite the scandal, the Arkansas head coach is still together to this day after going through a serious amount of counselling, as Petrino also revealed in his interview.

Who Are Bobby Petrino’s Children?

With two sons and two daughters, both of Petrino’s eldest children, Nick and Kelsey, graduated from Louisville, where the Arkansas head coach worked in the past, and despite their childhoods, the family has remained close.

“We are a very close family, and I think that comes from the childhood that we had, where we moved around so much that we’ve always had each other.” Petrino’s daughter, Kelsey, revealed, days after giving birth to his granddaughter, Anissa.

The head coach’s youngest daughter, Katie, attended Louisville, similar to her older siblings, where she was part of the golf team, being named as Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar in her junior season.

Petrino’s youngest son, Bobby, named after his father, also went viral in 2015, after he came out publicly as gay in a Louisville LGBT magazine, where he also attended university, like his elder brother and sister.

“As we were both walking off the field following the practice, I told him it was going to be released tomorrow, and I had a copy in my car for him.” Petrino Jr. revealed the moment he revealed to his father that he would be coming out publicly.

“To my surprise, he said, ‘Oh, don’t worry about it. I already have a copy. I am so proud of you and love you so much!’ and gave me a huge hug.”

While Petrino’s time at Arkansas may have come to a tumultuous end, his wife and family will be there supporting him as he takes on Tennessee tonight, preparing for the tough run to the end of the season that could cement him as head coach permanently.

According to the Pro Football Network playoff meter, the Razorbacks have a 0.12% chance of making the College Football playoffs, and are projected to finish the season 4-7. The “Hawgs” kick off against No. 12 Tennessee in Knoxville at 4:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
