AUSTIN (KXAN) — Spooky season is in full swing with Oktoberfest, Fallfest, and the second weekend of the AFC Champions League. Plus, there’s a classic Oscar Wilde film and a visit from some of your favorite Drag Race queens, perfect for a fun-filled weekend.
Weekend forecast
The weekend looks to be bright and sunny, with temperatures remaining well above average in the low 90s. The humidity is expected to drop, at least, giving us a generally nice and calm weekend. No complaints, just stay hydrated out there!
ButTootKing
Some of the most popular RuPaul Drag Race queens from Season 17 are touring the country, and they’re stopping right here in Austin! Suzie Toot, Lydia B. Kollins and Kori King launched ButtTootKing to visit their fans and showcase their talents. From lip syncing to dancing, and even a live song or two, this is the show that has it all. Taking place on Friday, October 10 at Empire Garage, the show is a show you can’t miss. Susie Tutt spoke exclusively to KXAN, and you can read all about their show and her journey at KXAN.com.

The importance of being serious
Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy show continues this weekend. “The Importance of Being Earnest” runs through Oct. 19, at the Austin Theater, 405 West 22nd Street, with performances running Thursday through Sunday. Additionally, following the October 10 show, there is a post-show conversation with the cast and creative team about the show. Sunday, October 12, includes an afternoon tea where audiences are encouraged to dress in their best Victorian costumes and a garden party before the show. Texas Pumpkin Festival
It’s fall, so of course we’ll have more festivals, including this one! The Texas Pumpkin Fest took off in Leander and remains a favorite every fall. From live music to plenty of photo opportunities, and even upgrading to horseback and train rides, there’s plenty to do. The Austin Area Pumpkin Patch will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-9pm and the festival runs through November 1st. Kids will also receive a free mini pumpkin. Austin Oktoberfest
There are plenty of German towns around Texas, but Austin is the place to celebrate Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest takes place on Saturday, October 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering beer, music and lots of fun. The German-Texan Heritage Society will host this event at its location at 507 E 10th Street in Austin. Performers include Yodel Blitz, Walburg Boys and Off the Grid. The whole family is welcome to attend, as there will be family-friendly activities for kids, including pumpkin painting and more. Austin City Limits on the second weekend
Couldn’t attend one weekend? Well, you’re in luck because the second weekend of Austin City Limits is here, and it’s just as much fun, with a few small changes. This weekend, we welcome Rilo Kiley, Sam Barber, and Belmuri on Friday, Pierce the Veil, Zeds Dead, and Car Seat Headrest on Saturday, and Gregory Alan Isakov, Julie, Ca7riel, and Paco Amoroso on Sunday.
